This will be our last week of our Mission Emphasis month, and this week we have the privilege of worshiping with our Bahasa Service (Malaysian National Language Service) with our brothers & sisters from East Malaysia.

After with the wonderful worship, we were drawn by Rev. Phua Seng Tiong's word of encouragement to take up the challenge to be a witness for God's Kingdom. His testimonies of what he has witnessed of 2 changed men:-

1) Once a theft and was abandoned by his family and became the most excellent Taxi Driver by answering his telephone calls with "Praise The Lord" without fail. Prayer before the journey starts for his customers. Also, an automatic alarm wake up call for most of his customer whom they are complacent"

2) Once a terrorist and became a witness for Jesus after serving sometime in Prisons

3) A man who sings "I Have Decided To Follow Jesus" while knowing his family were being persecuted.

4th Sunday of October and today is an exclusive day for all missionaries from our church to share their faith in what they do. The below are the list:-

2) The Twelve who went to Chiang Rai, Thailand (with a skit which is VERY impressive)
3) Sister to reached out to the Chinese Nationals students and also an outreach to Mainland China too
4) Brother with his family to serve in our local country for both Limited and Restricted Access community
5) Pastor shares what the church has done for Mission over the years to provide accountability of where mission pledges has been put into good Mission use.

Original Bootcamp M01S01 (Pre)

Alright, I have to admit that I'm really overweight and many has been telling me to keep my weight down and keep it healthy. Trust me, I was comtemplating about this issue for the past 10 years and I have not done a single thing. (Actually I do, but I gave up)... Hence, I was being introduced to Original Bootcamp Malaysia to keep myself fit and healthy. I was eager yet afraid that I wasn't able to cope with the regime schedule in the programme itself.

There I was, "Gungho" enough to sign myself up with Original Bootcamp Malaysia and received the below email:-

Dear XXX,
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to “ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP”.
You are currently enlisted in the KL PM program commencing on Monday 5th July 2010.
The meeting point for Original Bootcamp is at Padang Merbuk, just off Jalan Parlimen, opposite Akademi Sains Malaysia (Close to Bank Negara). If you need further directions, please just call us on 01-BOOTCAMP (012 668 2267) or click here to view a map. We can lock up your belongings during the session.
You will be required to meet your Instructors and fellow ‘Recruits’ at 1835 hours to finalise any admin requirements prior to roll call at 1845 hours. If you have any problems or need directions, please call your instructor on 01-BOOTCAMP (012 668 2267).
You will be required to bring the following items with you:• Water bottle• A warm hoodie, fleecy jumper or spare t-shirt to put on before and after your training.

Once introductions, the explanation of rules and regulations, and the morning's roll call are completed, we will commence the initial fitness assessment.
Pre-training AssessmentThe assessment has two major goals, to advise your Instructors as to your current fitness levels so that they can place you in a team that will challenge you, without asking you to do more than you are physically able, and to give you a reference point so that you can see just how much you have improved over the 4 weeks.
Upon the completion of the assessment we will give you your first taste of ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP.
Preparing For Day OneTo prepare for your first session, we suggest that you drink plenty of water the day before to hydrate yourself properly. It is too late to start drinking it on the day of bootcamp. Be careful not to eat too much right before the session. One or two pieces of toast or bread would be appropriate.
It is important to remember that ORIGINAL BOOTCAMP is not about yelling and hundreds of push ups. It has been scientifically designed to motivate individuals to challenge themselves physically, mentally and emotionally, with the sole objective of achieving their health & fitness goals.

Never did I know that one of my favourite actress has won an Academy Award this year!!! She's none other than Sandra Bullock for the movie "The Blind Side". All those years of comedic genre, she has not only acted but produced many of her own production.

The below is her acceptance speech upon obtaining the award for the 82nd Annual Academy Award (The most well-said acceptance speech ever, IMHO):-

“Did I really earn this or did I just wear you all down? I would like to thank the Academy for allowing me in the last month to have the most incredible ride with rooms full of artists that I see tonight and that I’ve worked with before and I hope to work with in the future, who inspire me and blaze trails for us. Four of them that I’ve fallen deeply in love with I share this night with and I share this award with.

Gabby, I love you so much. You are exquisite. You are beyond words to me. Carey, your grace and your elegance and your beauty and your talent makes me sick. Spiritual Swine Flu

It starts with the passage from Luke 15:11-24 (The Prodigal Son) however today's message is about the teens and young adults of today which is so drawn to the world by using the illustration of "The Prodigal Son".

Spiritual Swine Flu
1) A 'fever' for the 'far country'. (Luke 15:12-13)

Q: What is this 'fever' of the 'far country'?

A: It represents the world out there; the pleasures, the fun, the excitement that seems to be out threre. It also represents the moving out from the covering and security of the family and the house of God and having a taste of what is our there. It too represents 'to strike out on our own'; 'to live one's own life and do one's own thing.' And last but not least, it represents moving in a direction that is no longer controlled, watched upon.

At the back of every young minds will have such rants in their mind, given an example below:
"I always look at the far country and all they're doing is partying, having fun. I want to have fun. I am in my Father's house, killing myself trying to do the right thing and all these other people are having so much fun out there."

2) A 'headache full of lies'.

Some young minds all long probably would have felt imprisoned, chained up to his father's house, his father's ways, the rules he thought he was being forced to follow.

Eventually:

"He believed the lie that the far country would finally give him the freedom he longed for."

Bible quotes a warning in 1John 2:15-17:

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

So, what is wrong with going out there and be carefree, no control; no standards -going to the places that you want to go and mixing with the people that you want to mix, in the name of fun and freedom?

Bible quotes an answer to the above for what is really wrong in Romans 1:26-27:

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Heading back to the "The Prodigal Son" illustrations whereby there younger son longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.

Remember!!!!

Who your 'true friends are will be revealed on the day when you have nothing!

There are times in some people's lives where it is best to let them experience what they thought is the best until they come to the discovery that it is not so.

Back to Luke 15:17-18

"When he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you

3) The "Cure" (Luke 15:19-24)

It is not about how bad you are but how good HE is!!!

Note of lesson:
You don't have to go to the far country. Believe me, God wants you to have all the fun and excitement that you can have within the confines of His standards.

The Three Wishes - An Easter Story

Today my brother has told me about this story and it was beautiful. I would like treasure this story and whoever reads it, they will be blessed. Enjoy!!

Once upon a mountain top, three little trees stood and dreamed of what they wanted to become when they grew up.

The first little tree looked up at the stars and said: "I want to hold treasure.I want to be covered with gold and filled with precious stones.I'll be the most beautiful treasure chest in the world!"

The second little tree looked out at the small stream trickling by on its way to the ocean."I want to be traveling mighty waters and carrying powerful kings.I'll be the strongest ship in the world!"

The third little tree looked down into the valley below wherebusy men and women worked in a busy town."I don't want to leave the mountain top at all. I want to grow so tall that when people stop to look at me, they'll raise their eyes to heaven and think of God. I will be the tallest tree in the world."

Years passed- The rain came, the sun shone, and the little trees grew tall. One day three woodcutters climbed the mountain.

The first woodcutter looked at the first tree and said,"This tree is beautiful. It is perfect for me."With a swoop of his shining axe, the first tree fell. "Now I shall be made into a beautiful chest, I shall hold wonderful treasure!" The first tree said.

The second woodcutter looked at the second tree and said, "This tree is strong. It is perfect for me." With a swoop of his shining axe, the second tree fell. "Now I shall sail mighty waters!" thought the second tree. "I shall be a strong ship for mighty kings!"

The third tree felt her heart sink when the last woodcutter looked her way.She stood straight and tall and pointed bravely to heaven. But the woodcutter never even looked up. "Any kind of tree will do for me." He muttered. With a swoop of his shining axe, the third tree fell.

The first tree rejoiced when the woodcutter brought her to a carpenter's shop.But the carpenter fashioned the tree into a feed box for animals. The once beautiful tree was not covered with gold, nor with treasure. She was coated with saw dust and filled with hay for hungry farm animals.

The second tree smiled when the woodcutter took her to a shipyard, but no mighty sailing ship was made that day. Instead the once strong tree was hammered and sawed into a simple fishing boat. She was too small and too weak to sail to an ocean, or even river; instead she was taken to a little lake.

The third tree was confused when the woodcutter cut her into strong beams and left her in a lumberyard. "What happened?" The once tall tree wondered. "All I ever wanted was to stay on the mountain top and point to God... "

Many, many days and nights passed. The three trees nearly forgot their dreams.But one night, golden starlight poured over the first tree as a young woman placed her newborn baby in the feed box."I wish I could make a cradle for him.", her husband whispered.The mother squeezed his hand and smiled as the starlight shone on the smooth and the sturdy wood."This manger is beautiful." She said. And suddenly the first tree knew he was holding the greatest treasure in the world.

One evening a tired traveler and his friends crowded into the old fishing boat.The traveler fell asleep as the second tree quietly sailed out into the lake. Soon a thundering and thrashing storm arose. The little tree shuddered. She knew she did not have the strength to carry so many passengers safely through with the wind and the rain. The tired man awakened. He stood up, stretched out his hand, and said, "Peace." The storm stopped as quickly as it had begun. And suddenly the second tree knew he was carrying the king of heaven and earth.

One Friday morning, the third tree was startled when her beam was yanked from the forgotten woodpile. She flinched as she was carried through an angry jeering crowd. She shuddered when soldiers nailed a man's hands to her. She felt ugly and harsh and cruel. But on Sunday morning, when the sun rose and the earth trembled with joy beneath her, the third tree knew that God's love had changed everything. It had made the third tree strong. And every time people thought of the third tree, they would think of God. That was better than being the tallest tree in the world.

So next time you feel down because you didn't get what you want, just sit tight and be happy because God is thinking of something better to give you...........

Passion Week (Palm Sunday) - From Acceptance to Rejection

Pastor remind us that it is the week before the cruxification of the Lord Jesus and also said that claimed that it is called "Palm Sunday" or "Passion Week" which leads him to entitled his message titled "Acceptance to Rejection" - Luke 19:28-44

1) The People did not understand who Jesus was.

Luke 23:13-14 ; 18-23

The people during that time misunderstood who Jesus was. (Luke 19:39-40)

What are the reasons christian backslide?
a) Offended by fellow Christians?
b) Offended by God?

Question thrown to us is when we are taken back to Luke 9:19-20.

Eventually:-

i) We need to know Jesus is indeed God. (Philippians 2:5-7)
ii) We need to know that He and the Heavenly Father is One. (John 12:21)

Today's Message: Tearing Down "our" Walls & Building Bridges

Well, today's message is entitled "Spread Out by Tearing Down Walls and Building Bridges". Scripture is taken from Isaiah 54:3 which goes "For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities."

Pastor has been focusing with this title "Tearing Down Walls and Building Bridges" in order to spread out to the community.

A quote/perception towards Christians are as follow:-
"Christians are a lot like fertilizer. Piled up in one place they will burn a hole in the ground beneath them. But spread out over a large field, they can do a lot of good." Evangelist Luis Palau

4 Principles in order for us to Tear Down our walls and to build bridges are:-

1) Redefine the Perception of Christianity by Serving the Community.

Question: "What kind of perception are from the general public towards Christianity?"
* Just another religion?
* Another good teaching?

Matthew 25:40 clearly states that "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' "

Therefore, "People don't care how much you KNOW but they will know how much you CARE."

2) The concept of "Pastoring the Community".

The word pastoring indeed "freaks" a lot of christian, but in this context it meant = looking over, taking care off...etc. Instead of the literal profession by pastoring a church.

This famous scripture(Matthew 5:13-14) has been quoted many times, here now the verse goes like "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden."

So, the church doesn't not exist for the sake of the church, it exist for the sake of the World.

3) Doing the message Precedes telling the message.

What is our traditional way of evangelism = telling the message + caling for response. (No doubt this is being used occasionally and it still works for certain individuals)

"More people ever are hungry for God. But if we come to unbelievers with a message of "Get right with God or else", we may be forcing them out."

"When strangers start acting like neighbours, communities are reinvigorated."

4) Be DIFFERENT so that we can ma e a DIFFERENCE.

Remember! "You are in the world, but you are not of the world."

Prayer Before I Start my Work

This particular prayer was sent to me back in 2006. When I first read this prayer, it strucks me straight. Why? Coz while I'm reading it, I've realised that I'm praying it instead of reading it. Partly, I felt that his prayer was really written directly from the heart. Only now that I know it is written by someone named Kenneth Fernandes. And if I really have the chance to meet him, I really wanna thank him for writting such a beautiful prayer in a work place for everyone to meditate upon it.

One most important aspect of this prayer is that I do not feel a sense of self-centeredness in it at all. (which is awesome!!)

Alright, the truth is, I use to pray this prayer before I start my work daily. Usually, I start-off with "The Lord's Prayer"(very important horr...) then only this prayer comes along. Believe me, this prayer has brought me lots and lots of miracles in my life which words can't even described.

So, let's pray:

My Heavenly Father, as I enter this work place, I bring Your presence with me. I seek Your peace, Your grace, Your mercy and Your perfect order into this office. I acknowledge Your power over all that will be spoken, thought, decided and done within these walls.

Lord, I thank You for the gifts You have blessed me with. I commit to using them responsibly in Your honour, give me a fresh supply of strength to do my job. Annoint my projects, ideas and energy so that even my smallest accomplishments may bring You glory.

Lord, when I am confused, guide me.When I am weary, energize me. When I am burned out, infuse me with the light of the Holy Spirit. May the work that I do and the way I do it bring faith, joy and a smile to all that I come in contact with today.

And Oh Lord, when I leave this place, give me travelling mercy. Bless my family and home to be in order as I left it. Lord I thank You for everything You've done, everything You're doing, and everything You're going to do.

Today's Message: Inculcating Mindsets about challenges

I was attending this morning service, and the today's message entitled "Think Big - Even when the Chips are Down." (Philippians 4:10-13)

With such economic & financial turmoil, a question is being asked, which is "Is anything UP?" By that, the answer is a definite "YES". Here's why:-

*The opportunities for exploration, resourcefulness and creativity is up.
*The opportunity to serve people in need is going up.
*The opportunity to learn to trust God is going up.
*The opportunity to build a strong faith when the storms of life hit is going up.

2 things that we should do are as proposed below:-

1. Pray More. Complain Less.

See, in Ephesians 6:18 says: "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions wil all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints".

Therefore, complain less when all circumstances are coming our way.

2. Inculcate 4 mindsets about challenges (<-- In my opinion, this is really cool) a) No Pain. No Pearl. (James 1:2-4)
Why Pearl? What does pain has to do with the result of being a pearl?

Here's how jewel is being defined.
"the tiny jewel was conceived through irritation, born of adversity and nursed by adjustments."

A depiction of Charles W. * One man builds CASTLES; another digs CAVES.
* One man's WEED is another man's FLOWER.
* One man's TRASH is another man's TREASURE.
* The secret of success lies in what people do when they are BROKEN - not in how many BREAKS they get!
* It is wonderful to know Jesus Christ as our Saviour. But we could never know Him as our SAVIOUR if we had not been SINNERS.
* We could not be SAVED if we were never LOST.
* We could not be HEALED if we were never SICK.
* We appreciate the DAWN because there has been a NIGH.
* We do not know VICTORY unless we have known DEFEAT.

My dream phone for the year 2010 - Nokia N97

We've been hearing over and over again on the very new Nokia's innovation towards 3rd & 4th Quarter of 2008. Yet again, no one seems to know the exact phone specifications, design and capabilities.

This was a prediction of how Nokia N97 looks like back 2008. What a disappointment when I see it, heck.... Eeeeww:-

To all Nokia lovers, this very beauty was unleashed at the Nokia World Conference 2008 back in Spain. It is a true beauty(well to me it is).

There's only one thing that bothers me, which is the camera's density which remains still at 5 Megapixel (however that 5MP comes with the Carl-Zeiss optics and autofocus [ok la.... very sui liao]) if it is going to be compared with the coming Sony Ericsson Idou's camera.. whoa...pah ling dao... Yet I still like Nokia. Ranting is not part of my nature, so I'll stop here.

Well, I have to confess that the current financial turmoil is not doing any organisations any good. People are afraid that they might lose their jobs without pre-warnings and preparation or even a small discussion with the management so-to-speak.

I got a message from my boss one day saying that our department has come to a point with excess of staffs. Volume is plunging to a verge of at least 60%, which causes many redundancy in the department. Extra cost has been incurred and the term "cutting-cost" is in place for the department's sake.

When these thing happens, load-sharing of from other departments are being involved. Why in the first place, our Boss did not do anything to prevent these things from happening. He should have done something to prevent from the upper management to bring out the excess staff (which is never easy to be trained) to load share to a department which needed help.

Is the future in the office that fragile? Let's pray and commit this to the Lord.

1) Heal our thoughts (Psalm 51:6)
2) Guard our thoughts (Isaiah 26:3-)
3) Align your thoughts (Isaiah 55:7-9; Romans 8:5-7; Matthew 16:23)

The message ended with Paul's Journey:

--> The preaching of Christ was the business of Paul's life.
--> The presence of Christ was the good news of Paul's life.
--> The image of Christ was the crown of his life.
--> The will of Christ was the law of his life.
--> The glory of Christ was the end of his life.
--> The ressurection of Christ was the proof of his life.
--> When he travelled it was on Christ's errands.
--> When he suffered it was in Christ's service.

... everything we do is to align ourselves with the focus on Jesus Christ. Amen!

Tash Aw - The Harmony Silk Factory

I was browsing through some books back in 2006 and honestly speaking, I hesitated whether to buy Tash Aw's very first debut titled "The Harmony Silk Factory". I remembered that I've read it somewhere in "The Star" newspaper sometime ago and something really funny just came over me by making that footstep to purchase this beautiful book.

It's all about Johnny Lim

A book that illustrated the colours of Malaya back in the 1940s which no one else could ever painted it so well. I am considered the Generation X of Malaysia whereby Malaya is just a portriat to me or maybe I've witnessed it somewhere in the pictures or stories in our very own history books during my secondary years. Mind you, it is never enough... whether or not our history books has been censored, I do not know and will not venture into sensitive issues.

This book is shaping one very special character by the name Johnny Lim. There are actually 3 voices that gives you the parts and pieces of this person. Mainly his son, his wife, and his British best friend.

1) The son imparted his father's life as a true hero back in the haydays until his very last breath.

2) His wife diarised the belated honeymoon adventures to the island called the Seven Maidens.
[which is now called "Pulau Besar" in Malacca]

3) His best friend has filled up all the loops wholes in the story which I guess no one else could ever imagine the real importance of his existence.

My overall rating is 4/5. This book has really brought me through adventures in Malaya back in the 1940s and I can truly say that at some point, I really do feel for Johnny at a certain aspect of his life. The feeling of pain, sorrow, & regrets.

What a page turner!!! And now I will now go listen to Mozart's Opera titled Don Giovanni... You'll get what I mean once you've finished it.

Today's Message: Don't be left Behind!!!

Today's message entitled "Don't Be Left Behind". The title may sound simple however, the truth behind this message alarms many christians. Pastor uses "The Parable of the Ten Virgins" as an illustration to his message today under the text Matthew 25 1:1-13.

After reading the passage given, we are being led back to Matthew 24 instead, which leads us to "The Day and Hour Unknown (or Signs of the End of the Age)". Many thought that the second coming of Jesus Christ can be well predicted, so that everyone looks good during judgement day. WRONG!!!...

So, in the bible, it does really prepare us and shows us the signs of His second coming. To be exact, in Matthew 24:40 - 41 Jesus said "Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left." Well, the question that we should be asking ourselves - Are we prepared for His second coming or are we prepared to be left behind?

Many also discussed the events on the end time rapture, many has it's doubt too. In the bible, it somehow demonstrates that rapture may occur with the passage written by Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18: "According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words"

...and it continues with 1 Thessalonians 5:1-9 and Revelation 16:1-15.

In accordance to the above, in Matthew 25 "Jesus followed up with 3 consecutive parables that teaches us in what areas we should be paying attention to".

1) Parables of the 10 Virgins (Matthew 25: 1-13)

"Every person is responsible for his/her own spiritual condition."

Matthew 24:37-39
"Not everyone will be ready because some of us would be indulging in the leisure and pleasure of the world that our spiritual condition is one of lukewarmness and apathy."

"...these very blessings can sson become a bane, when we use these God given blessings to withdraw to our own comfort zone."

2) Parables of the Talents (Matthew 25: 14-30)
Preparation No.02
"We need to use well what God has entrusted to us."

"We, too must also realize and acknowledge that every talent that we have is God given"

I have to admit that I have this obsession over this song. And now, no doubt there was a big controversy over Mike's case, however I still do not understand why does Hillsong made such a decision by removing this song from the album??

My point of view, there is no reason to remove such a beautiful well-written & composed song. The song is not the main controversy, it was only his actions that causes the controversies. We as Christians are thought to forgive, care and love yet, people are still boycotting not only his song but also as a brother in Christ. Am I to say that he has been excommunicated from all churches in Australia? Fuyoooh...

Did we forget what Jesus told us in Matthew 7:1-2?
Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

There are many well-known figures in the Bible has done something that is against God's will and still it is not being removed from the Bible. Why? Because it is served as a constant reminder to each and everyone of us that even with these well-known figures that has been used by God, it doesn't mean that these figures does not give-in into our own flesh.

That is why we need Healing... And through the precious blood of Jesus Christ and by His Stripes we are being Healed!!!

My Guess:
Mike might have written this song as a reflection upon himself which he needed the healing from the Lord.

Brothers & Sisters... please ponder into the word once again. And let us do pray for him for he needs lots of prayers right now.

2008 - Family trip of the year - Penang 2 (Part 1)

Alright, father got a phone call to Penang to attend a personal meet-ups together along with mom. And so, PENANG 2 (REVISITED!!!) is up for plans...

We've booked a 5 bedded room at the YMCA Penang, Jalan Macalister, Penang. It came to our surprised that the room was really comfy with all the basic needs. Come on, our ultimate goal is to WHACK the whole Penang... YEAH!!!

We pushed off by 7am Saturday from Kuala Lumpur (KL) to Ipoh at about 2.5 hours drive and we were looking for the famous "Beef Noodle" restaurant, sadly to say, we were late... and it's only 9.30am and they say finished . COME ON!!! (actually the Q long la... lazy to wait)

So, brother has another suggestion which was pre-recommended by his friend, and we head off to...

1) Kedai Kopi Kong Heng

and we had...

a) Popiah & Lobak - The PoPiah was awesome however the Lobak to me was only so-so

b) Kai See Hor Fun - So, the Ipoh Kuey Teow with shredded chicken delicacy... This is really not bad and it's really worth the try. Although it may seems oily in the beginning, but when you do your very first slurrpppp... WAHHHHH.... heaven.

c) Ipoh White Coffee - We KL-ians are very used to instant stuff and by saying that we too have also drank from the ready packed commercialised white coffee ... So now, we're in Ipoh, and oh boy you've got to try this, because by the end of your drink, you'll realised that there are no coffee bids at the bottom. Amazingly smooth!!!

The truth, I was actually listening to this album with no knowledge of what the album is gonna convey. I wasn't as updated as I am (as usual), however, when I knew about the existence of this album is only when Hollywood has agreed to film it on screen. By then it was back 2003 only.

Yaya... 1996 - 2003 it's equivalent to 7 years. Actually, I've not been missing anything at all. The songs whom Jonathan Larson wrote and composed begs out a message to those who has come to the edge of their lives and thinking of ending it. This is the album for you to regain your esteem, dignity and confidence level with LOVE around you. This album is teaching us how to love one another like how Jesus loves us. No matter what our backgrounds are, Jesus will never stop loving us. So, we are taught to love each other with no judgements towards each other.

This musical has it's uniqueness unlike the rest e.g. Sondheim, Webber or Schwartz that we have been listening and enjoying... It's lyrics spells out a struggling soul that yearns for love, care and attention which needed to be attended to.

For those who has not listen to it... give it a try. No harm at all, very conversational message for you to absorb. Listen to RENT with a compassion mindset, trust me, you'll be drawn into it in no time.

It started off during her teenage years when they are carrying her father's coffin to where he is suppose to be buried, Beijing. Came from a hardcore life and always fantasized on how luxurious the life is in the "Forbidden City". She struggles her way into the Palace through seasons of "Beauty Pageant" contest by getting favour from NOT only the Emperor Xien Feng but also the Grand Empress.

Lifestyles has been changed (was it for the better?), friends are made (can they be trusted?), enemies that can't be felt in within our usual 5 senses. Became the Emperor's favourite and bear him a son which elevates her status as a Concubine.

What became of her during the war and after the war? Did she changed to revive China for the better or did those Fortune Tellers did really predict that the whole China Dynasty will be destroyed by a woman's hand? Who is she really?

She's none other than the Great Empress Dowager Cixi (Tzu Hsi in some version).

Nothing related: Alright, I have to admit that I do not know all about her stories until the day I went for the China Beijing tour back in Dec '05. Her life is like the greatest story ever told during the Qing Dynasty. If this gonna be a movie in Hollywood (with the right actors and crews behind), do you think this is gonna be bigger than "Titanic"? Fingers Cross guys.... Haha

My buddy is off to her hometown for 2 days and I have to cover 2 persons job at the same time same day today. Well, I am blessed enough that the volume today is low, which I am able to manage.

Well, in many circumstances, I would say it was a blessing to join a department which I'm able to learn lots... instead of getting stuck in a rat race which I never like.

Someone once told me that it was "rezeki" to move out from a horrid place to the another for the better, however, after 2 months, that same person wants to get out in no time. In the end, it doesn't seem like "rezeki" to me after all. Appreciative? Nope, not at all. Well, it is still that person's free will.

(By the way, Rezeki = Luck, Fortune Bringing) <-- which I don't believe in such thing. I suppose I would like to quote this verse today:- Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." John 20:29

The church that I'm attending is called Charis Christian Centre in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. Well, it is a church that I grew up with ever since I was 10. Now that I'm helping out with the power point, I would say that this church has it's talents that should be well complimented. There is this song written by ONE of them and it's really really good....

My Life in the new department

Well, this is the continuation of my previous blog where I was being accepted to join the new department last September. Needless to say, I was really thrilled with the decision that I've made. I just can't tell you how enthusiastic I was back then... I want to thank the Lord all the favours that He hast given me.

It came a time when I've realised that I'm taking over someone else's place to relieve on the workload that I'm supposed to deal with while I was in it. There was an immense pressure that creeps into me without my knowlegde. My guess would be, I wanted to be on par with my buddy whom I was working with so that we could work together as a team instead of relying on her which gave her unintentional and unnecessary burden.

Although, I have to admit that I do have a very particular Team Mgr. which molds me and trains me well. Although he's action tells you otherwise, but he's really a good boss to me. I am what I am today it's really all because of him and Him (who brought me through seasons of difficulty and teaches me patience). In addition, he does appreciates what we've done for him as a team and he has broadcasted it through-out the whole department of 120 employees and gave us a real good treat at the Secret Recipe restaurant together with the whole team. All he ever wanted was to give us a sense of recognition. Sadly to say, he has left us for the better. We've lost another great soldier.

In spite of all that has happened, I want to thank God for what He has given me that is the Opportunity that hasts been provided, His favours, His abundance Mercies & everlasting Grace. I'm really overwhelmed when I realised that I have to take over a team and now I have to carry that burden as a Team Mgr.

Pray for me as I need loads of prayers.

Tong Yu & Mei Seng's Wedding

Although it is a wedding time for the 2 love birds (which is Hoh Tong Yu & Mei Seng) moreover, t was also another Lim's family gathering for the year 2008. It was magnificent whereby most of us turn up for the wedding and everyone had great time by getting together to catch up... The Lim's has it's tradition back in Tokai, Kedah... long long story... the good, the bad and the ugly. But all that has been put aside with the respect of the 2 couples. Thank God!!!

Chinese New Year 2008

In the new year of 2008, the Lord has brought us through ups and downs ever since the end of the year 2006. I must say, the Lord Jesus Christ is really true in our lives as He hasts given us peace, patience, love and infinite grace and mercy to upon our family. From there on, our faith has never been deteriorate.

Alas, we are looking for our Chinese New Year celebration at home. Although I have to work on the eve as I'm one of the few locals in the department. The Lord bless us abundantly by His provision. Let's take a look and see.... Wahh..... nice lehh

Our yearly 1.6 gathering

Ever since our very first year in the Uni, we all had bad impression among ourselves. And so, we had our first gathering in Genting Highland at the end of our 1st Semester and the rest is history. Many of them aren't in Malaysia anymore but still we will make an attempt to meet up every year... AT LEAST....

Now that Choo Gim is back from Australia to celebrate Chinese New Year with her family, and so we took the opportunity to meet up with everyone and had a gathering at Subang Jaya's steamboat. It was a time of fun and laughter through-out the session..... no doubts about how close we are ever since our very first gathering back in 2005 at the Kelana Jaya Steamboat dinner session...

Gluttony during Christmas

We had turkey (which is supposed to consume during Thanksgiving), beef, lamb, baked potatoes, mushroom soup & self-made Mojito!!! I guess the pictures speak for themselves.

My birthday...

So many years passes by, and this is the birthday that I've enjoyed most. No cakes, no singing & no big hoo-haa about it.

In the morning, while I was working, I got scolded by my Team Leader for not doing things correctly. However, my phone did not stop as many are wishing me birthday wishes. (Mind you, I did not bragg about my birthday to everyone.) So, my little observant buddy came to realisation that it was my birthday indeed. So, in the afternoon, my team leader came to apologise and scolded me AGAIN for not taking leave... I was like... WHAT?! Hahahahah... it was a joke after all...

I had great dinner celebreation at "Venezia" (Italian Cuisine) located at Taman Segar, Cheras. [shop houses behind Leisure Mall]. Oooo... I like the ambience in there, it's cozy and comfy all at the same time. Food is a little pricy but it's GOOOOD....

An outing trip with Kid's Kingdom

Well, after serving years in Kids' Kingdom, this is the first outing for the kids for the year 2007. My parents are back from China after my dad's kidney's transplant, I guess it's time to give it back to the Lord.

In this event, we are off to Aquaria, KLCC. Honestly speaking, I've not been there myself. I was assigned to 4 little rascals which is in my class and here they are:

My thoughts:

I've never realised that how much attention these kids needed. Although it was clear that this ministry was giving tuition to the needy whom some of them are not attending classes in school whereby their parents think that they have far greater responsibilities to take care of their siblings than going to school. How blessed are we? Let's not talk about Bachelors certificates, these kids don't even know what's ahead of them at all.

I used the word 'rascal' is because they gave me challenging times during the trip and one thing that I've observed is that they like your presence to be there when they see something new. Somehow, they tend to ask intelligent questions which I, myself couldn't answer. In the end, I had a wonderful time with them.

Last but not least, I sang the song "Kenangan Terindah" by Samson (Indonesian group) together with them while we were heading back home and until everyone sounds asleep.

Yay! Finally I'm leaving the old for the new...

I landed my first job in a Telesales Department when I first joined a reputable Financial Institution. The experiences that I have gained in sales & services are really tremendously vast. To my knowledge, I thought I would be selling credit cards only but when it came to the year of 2006, we are diversidie products such as Credit Cards, Balance Transfers, Personal Loans etc... and our individual Scorecards/KPI targets are chasing the height of Mount Everest every month. (and if I'm really buying multiple shares/options, I really do wish that it fluctuates this way).

What I like about this institution is that I'm able to move around departments if I'm there for at least 2 years. When 2007 came, I've been trying really hard to submit all the "advertised" entries in our intranet. Trust me, a Telesales agents is never as salable as any employees in the eyes of the other respective departments, which I really have to humble myself to learn from the hard way up.

Finally, by the Grace of God during prayer and fasting, I have submitted an entry without getting my self prepared for the interview and what really shocks me during the session was when they were asking "How soon can your boss release you?" I was in awe. And I didn't even think I would be impressed with myself with the way I'm performing in the room.

Now, at the back of my mind, they sounded really desparate and I'm really worried that the new place I'm heading for... is it for the better? Let's wait and see... :o)

Well, I do have something for this song, and I find this song really "Amazing". Somehow, not only the melodic rhythm that I am hooked into but the lyrics in this particular song did convey a message saying that "We are really nothing without Him, which is our Lord Jesus"
